Blogging the Bloggers

Pia_Jane_Bijkerk_s

I love the interconnectedness of the world of blogs.  Last week I met a like minded blogger, Christina Lew,  who is sharing her explorations of another Northern suburbs hood.  The name of the her blog, Miss Rosanna, immediately gives her location away.  One of her self appointed missions is to profile locals so that we can all get to know one another better.  On Friday she posted a profile about Isiiad. While regular Isiiad readers will pretty much already know what's on the profile, I urge you to go and have a look at Miss Rosanna to get an idea of all the great things to see and do in that part of the world.

Another recent find is Pia Jane Bijkerk's lovely blog Enhance the Everyday.  I happened upon it after buying a copy of her latest book "My Heart Wanders". Oh how I love it!  Her two previous books, "Paris: Made by Hand" and "Amsterdam: Made by Hand" are must-includes in your suitcase if you're travelling to those cities any time soon. Pia is a stylist and photographer, who has a gorgeous aesthetic and writes in such a lyrical way that it makes my heart soar.

Lastly, I want to share a big blog find this week from one of my faves.  The Sartorialist has been a regular 'pop-in' on my blog reading agenda. Based in New York City, Scott Schuman photographs men and women he spots on the street who are wearing clothes in an inspirational way. Each day he features his best find.  His blog has become a favorite of fashion lovers and great designers around the globe.  Last week he mentioned that he and life partner Garance Dore, also a fashion blogger,  (together they rate as fashion royalty) had been to the McQueen Exhibition titled Savage Beauty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.  My daughter raved about that one some months ago, so much so, that  I wished I had been there to see it with her. I'm happy to report that Garance has posted her photographs from that visit on her blog, so that now we can all enjoy the experience.  If you haven't already done so, check out both blogs, but be warned, they're addictive... in the nicest possible way.
