The Yarra Store

YarraStorefront3_s

I've been going to the Yarra Store since before I came to live in Warrandyte. Owner, Rosemary Barry has helped me give my credit card a run on several occasions. Linen, local Yarra Valley produce, homewares and ladies clothes are all available here. Aaaaah the clothes! Great options for layering.  Labels like Banana Blue, Jimmy Jean, Zachet and Plover, Lounge Apparel, Frey and recently a very classy French label called Bleu Blanc Rouge. She also has some great accessories that work well with her clothing. The shop is particularly men friendly, with neutral colours throughout, great men's toiletries and lots of good cook books and gardening books. Even kids are well catered for with a kids corner and great kids toys. Something for everyone.

Rosemary is quite a woman.  She has applied her considerable history in retail to great effect in Warrandyte.  She wanted locals to be able to buy great clothes and homewares without having to make the trip into the city. She's run off her feet keeping up with the demand.  Fortunately she's well up to the task. She's one of those great women who manage a family, (she has five children) and a busy life with a thriving business. She saw the potential in this gorgeous old building well before it became available.  It was originally Warrandyte's General Store with the owners living in the back of the shop.  It's provided the perfect venue for Rosemary's business.

Trawl through these photos to get a feel for the wares on offer.  It's just a small sample of what's there.  If you're looking for a pressie, something for the table, (she boasts the largest range of table cloths in Melbourne...a glance at the big cupboard stacked to capacity and I believe her) or something to cheer up your wardrobe... you must go there.
