The shopping strip in Healesville is such a hip happening place. Great shops and great places to eat are a winning combination. Last week, I started my Healesville shop crawl at Clarence– Flowers and Fancy Goods. Without realising beforehand, I discovered that I knew the owner, Bobilee Shahine, in a previous life. There was so much catching up, laughing and exclamations of “I don’t believe it!”.
Bobi is a powerhouse of a young woman. Within just over 18 months she has built up a great business, selling ‘flowers and fancy goods’. The locals are loving her ‘gaffiti’ shop front (above), flowers and interesting goods and are also keeping her way too busy with styling their weddings and other functions. A scroll down through these pics will show you why.
Just when I was exhausted from hearing what she packs into her week, Bobi told me about her involvement in the Happy School in Cambodia. Along with some like minded friends, an organisation called ACE was born which pretty much funds the Happy School for some fortunate young Cambodian children. Bobi’s impressive contacts in the entertainment business have been invaluable resources for fund raising, the Cat Empire and the Speigeltent amoung them. A fund raiser was organized at the Speigeltent on Melbourne Cup Eve and performers (Kate Ceberano amoung them) offered performances. Funds raised went directly to the school, enhancing the lives of its children. What a winner. What a great story. What a woman!

Not surprisingly, Bobi is a master of the gentle art of multi tasking.
The pics below are from a wedding Bobi styled at Mt Rael in the Yarra Valley. You can see that she has a gift for transforming spaces and arranging flowers that makes you happy to be alive.
